Paul Gonez invites us to plunge into a world of transparency, through a series of works that highlight the beauty and fragility of matter. His bronze and glass sculptures take us on a sensory journey, where light seems to find its way through the forms, revealing new details and nuances with every glance.
Paul GONEZ, sculptor, was born in Savenay (Loire-Atlantique) in 1946. He works mainly in metal - steel, stainless steel and bronze - in his studio in Besançon (Doubs).
His sculptures range from small pieces measuring just ten centimetres to monumental works measuring over twelve metres.
For some years now, his work has focused on symbolic abstraction, with recurring research into solar symbols and the related figures of the cycle - season, life and death, metamorphosis, mutation, regeneration.
His medium- and small-scale works combine a variety of materials, in particular stone and glass set in bronze.
