The Gros Morond refuge is managed by the Club Alpin Français du Haut-Doubs.
The people who welcome you are all volunteers.
Our refuge is in a privileged location in the middle of the ski slopes and mountain bike trails of the Métabief resort; it is close to the Mont d'Or hang-gliding site, very close to the G.R. 5 long-distance hiking trail in the summer, and a stone's throw from the G.T.J. (Grande traversée du Jura) in the winter.
In a "refuge" atmosphere which does not exclude a comfortable setting, it will always welcome you in the best conditions. The large sunny room with 40 places, the terrace, the well-equipped kitchen.
The 30 beds are divided into 4 dormitories:
Paradis 12 people, Bellevue 6, Morond 4 and Troupézy 8 .
With gas central heating and a wood-burning stove to heat the atmosphere, showers.
The cloakroom/dryer if you arrive wet and muddy, have been designed to make your stay enjoyable.
In the summer months, access is via a forest road, but when the first snow falls, the chalet is isolated and only accessible by cross-country skiing or snowshoeing in half an hour, or by ski lifts.
The chalet is self-sufficient and everyone is responsible for keeping it clean.
It is essential to book your places in advance.
