GR 559 from Lons le Saunier to Les Rousses

The GR559 links the plains to the mountains, from Lons-le-Saunier, the spa town and home of Rouget de Lisle, to the resort of Les Rousses in 95km. Ideal for discovering the different facets of the Jura, between the vineyards, the Lake District and the Haut-Jura, this GR is without doubt one of the wildest in the department. The mosaic of landscapes, the succession of great natural sites such as the Conliège retreat, the Chalain lake, the Hérisson waterfalls, the 4 lakes plateau, the Bonlieu lake, the Abbaye lake, the Bienne valley and the Rousses green station will delight the itinerant hikers!
The wide open spaces, the preserved fauna and flora of the Haut-Jura Regional Nature Park and visits to Comté cheese dairies will complete the experience of hikers looking for a change of scenery and fresh air...
