The Quintuplet

-

This tour, with its rich cultural and natural heritage, will take you to discover the different landscapes of the Petite Montagne through waterfalls, the Dard gorge, a medieval bridge, a forest, a stream, the ruins of a castle, an old village... a little bit of magic.

The start of the walk is at the car park with a signpost "Chatonnay", you will follow the road slightly before going up towards "Bacu". You will walk on a path sheltered by a hedge.
At the "Cascade" post you can go back and forth to the foot of the waterfall. Be careful, the path has a steep slope with steps. It is slippery in wet weather.
At the "Quinquenouille" post, take the time to admire the arched bridge over the Dard.
The path then climbs to dominate the gorge. You will then walk through the wood along the stream.
After a fairly long climb, you will arrive at the ruins of the village of Dramelay-le-Château.
This medieval village, once famous and well populated, has disappeared. The last house was burnt down on 17 May 1944 by German troops. The chapel and the ruins of the houses are still visible.
At the signpost "Tour de Dramelay", you go back down towards Dramelay, passing under the ruins of the old castle. The castle was destroyed in 1479 by the armies of Louis XI. Only the remains of the tower are still visible.
You will then reach the village of "Dramelay" through meadows and woods before passing back to "Bacu" and returning to the starting point.
