The dynamic agriculture of Grandvaux produces famous cheeses such as Comté and Morbier. It also contributes to maintaining the open landscapes of this walk, bordering meadows and woods.
Looking for a change of scenery? Let yourself be tempted by this peaceful circuit through typical Grandvaux landscapes, where forests, pastures and hedges intermingle with the gentle and peaceful curves of the valley, so wide that it looks like Canada around Saint-Laurent-en-Grandvaux.
From SAINT-LAURENT CENTRE, go up the village along the route de Genève to the roundabout and Saint-Laurent - le Crêt (yellow signs).
The route crosses the car park and reaches the pasture.
It turns right and climbs the grassy slope alongside the campsite. Continue through the pasture to the carriage road (former tramway) which you follow to Les Maisonnettes.
The path climbs to the right and passes under the railway tunnel. Continue your way through the pasture to Les Pierres. Cross the road and continue on the path at the bottom of the valley which joins En Fouradon and then Les Cloisons.
The forest track goes to the right, to pass the spring (metal tub).
At a crossroads, the track climbs to the left towards Les Jeannez, then to the entrance of the hamlet.
Then take the road opposite to Les Poncets, below the D437. The path bends to the right and continues to Salave de Vent via Rue du Vieux Chalet (old cheese factory on the left, recognisable by the small loophole windows on the north façade). Find the D437 and follow it to the right for 20m.
Turn right to cross the hamlet. Then a wide path runs alongside a housing estate and leads to the Chemin de l'œuf.
Rue du Vatican joins the D 678 to cross the level crossing. Turn immediately right towards the station. Return to the centre of the village via Rue Rouget de Lisle.
