Circuit de randonnee pedestre - la vallee du doubs

This 20km hike from Baume-les-Dames invites you to discover the crests of Baume-les-Dames and the Doubs valley. You'll be rewarded for your efforts by the pretty panoramas on the banks of the Doubs and from the ridge paths.

STEP 1: From Place Jouffroy d'Abbans, take Rue du Moulin Vermoret and then the Eurovélo 6. Then take the red footbridge across the Doubs and continue on Eurovélo 6 towards Montbéliard.

STEP 2: Then cross the canal over the bridge on your right, follow the canal and take the bridge. After the bridge, turn right onto Rue des Pipes, which takes you past the old Pipes Ropp factory. Continue along this road until you reach the D19.

STEP 3: Be careful! You will have to take part of this departmental road. Go over this large rise and exit it along a path on the left. This will take you to a stony track.

STEP 4: You pass a gap in the cliff known as the Babre cleft. Continue along this path until you come down to the village of Hyèvre-Magny.

STEP 5: You arrive in the village of Hyèvre-Magny. Cross the village via the main street and then the bridge to reach the village of Hyèvre-Paroisse. When you come out of the bridge, turn left onto the D683 and then enter the village along the main road, which runs alongside a railway line.

STEP 6: At the next junction in the village, turn left and then almost immediately right onto Rue de la Vieille Église. The road will narrow and become a footpath.

STEP 7: Follow this path until it crosses the D328, which you take on the right. Leave the road for a footpath on your left.

STEP 8: At the end of this path, rejoin the road to cross the locality of Bois la Ville.

STEP 9: Continue as far as the village square and then, before the farm, take a track on the right.

STEP 10: At the fork in the road, turn left. Then take the hairpin path on your right.
