Starting from the village of Roulans, behind the Collège. From the starting point, walk up the edge of the wood to Vennans; fork left and enter the wood. Leave the wood and walk through the meadows as far as Pouligney-Lusans, then return to Roulans through the forest, finishing with a visit to the beautiful arboretum.

STEP 1: From the car park opposite Roulans town hall, head towards Besançon before turning right into the Rue des Jardins.
After gradually climbing up the village of Roulans, take the Chemin du Chateau d'Eau between the college and the insemination centre.

STEP 2: Further on the left, follow a path through the woods before turning onto the winding road. You are now on the Chemin du Côtard.

STEP 3: Take the winding descent which offers a panoramic view of the villages of Vennans and St Hilaire.
When you reach the bottom of the hill, take the path on the right towards Pouligney.

STEP 4: In the village of Pouligney, turn right onto a gravelly forest road. After more than a kilometre on this road, before the motocross
before the motocross track, take the left-hand path into the Chaille woods. Perhaps you'll spot some wild boar or roe deer?

STEP 5: At the end of the wood, you will pass over a cutting that forms a clearing. Below you is the old pipeline.

STEP 6: When you arrive in Roulans, follow the signs back to the starting point.
