The Abyss Gorge Trail

-

ATTENTION: Course closed by municipal by-law of 4 December 2023 until renovation work is completed in 2024.

This short 2km walk takes in one of the most beautiful sites in the Jura, the Gorges de l'Abime. At the foot of the Cirque de Vaucluse, this fully developed discovery trail winds through the narrow gorges carved out by the tumultuous Abime torrent. Using footbridges to get as close as possible to the white water, you can step over giant potholes before reaching one of the torrent's most spectacular springs, the trou de l'abime, a 45m-deep drowned well, and its turquoise waters...

This is an out-and-back trail only. For the safety of users, the upper part of the trail is closed by decree.

Dangerous route, very slippery terrain in wet weather. Some sections are difficult and require good skills and appropriate equipment. Not recommended for those afraid of heights.
