Walking loop - le val de cusance

From the church car park in Cusance, follow the small sign for Montivernage. Walk a few paces along the road in the village and take the path on your left after the electricity pole. You will cross the Cusancin.

After the small bridge, turn right and walk alongside the fish farm. Climb the hill and follow the yellow and blue signs to a large stone house. You'll see a little Virgin Mary in a niche. You are now in Montivernage.

Go into the village towards Mont Noirot and take the first turning on the left. Follow the path to the 2 sheds. Go straight on at the sheds. Follow the signs to the left (yellow and blue) to enter the pasture. Go through the chicane and along the edge of the wood.

Go through another chicane and enter the forest. Follow the path. On the left, you can leave the path to enjoy a view of the valley.

Return to the footpath and continue along it until you come to the road to Lanans (D21).

As you leave the woods, turn right and follow this road for 250 metres. On the left, follow the signs for "Mont Noirot" and follow the tarmac road.

At Mont Noirot, after the farm, turn left. Follow signs for Mont Millot until you reach the road. Cross the road and take the path opposite.

At the crossroads, turn left towards Mont Millot. In the hamlet of Mont Millot, turn right and then left.

Take the road on the left. After the bend, take the footpath on the left.

Go down this path until you reach a track. This path leads up to the chapel: turn right. From the chapel, you can enjoy another view of the valley. Retrace your steps to reach the village, cross the small bridge and turn right.

Pass the Auberge des 3 Ponts then turn left to discover the green spring. From the green spring, retrace your steps and follow the signs to the blue spring (opposite). Retrace your steps and turn right. Continue along the road (about 700 m) back to the church in Cusance.
