Vineyard Trail

-

Until the 20th century, the vine was an important part of the agriculture and economy of the northern Jura. This interpretation trail, which runs between four villages, allows you to discover the cycle of work in the vineyard and the cellar during the four seasons.

Opposite the fountain, turn right into the Rue du Four which rises towards the church. Cross the D 125 and take a stony path that climbs towards the wood; turn left. Follow the edge of the wood, then go down and find the D 125 shortly before Taxenne. Follow the road to the right to reach the church (typical Franc-Comtois bell tower). Take the direction of Ougney.

At the end of the village, leave the road on the right for a dirt track (remarkable tree in the cemetery, interpretation panels). It goes up and through the wood towards Vitreux. Continue until you reach a fountain.

Fork right then turn right onto the Chemin du Désert, which is tarmac and then gravel. Pass the signpost 8, then follow the dirt track on the right for 500 m which climbs into a leafy forest. At a crossroads, continue to the left to go back down to Pagney.

At the first house, take the dirt track on the right, then follow the Rue de la Fontaine to the Grande Rue. Turn right and pass the church. Immediately at the corner, turn right into a pedestrian alley (rest and play area). Leave the alley, head towards the Rouffange road and, in the bend, follow the stony path on the left, which rises towards the forest. At the edge of the wood, turn right onto the forest track which leads to a road.

Follow it to the left through the woods. Cross the D 125 and return to Rouffange.
