Path of the Springs

-

The old oak tree, known as the virgin oak, which is about 5 centuries old, marks the start of the springs trail, which takes you through a series of springs under the patronage of various saints (Martin, Jérôme, Joseph).
You will then go deeper into the Chaux forest, following or crossing several small streams which will bring you some coolness during the hot summer days.
The path will lead you to a magnificent oak tree at the crossroads of cuts 505-506-520-521 and then to the captured spring of the Hermitage, which supplied some of the fountains in the village of Falletans until the 1960s/70s.
You will then pass by an old barracks known as the "baraques du Trois" where families of foresters lived.
The walk ends with a beautiful view of the Doubs plain and the town of Dole, which can be seen in the distance, overlooked by the bell tower of the collegiate church.
