This family walk starts in the village of Valleroy and runs for most of the way along the Ognon, the river that marks the boundary between the Doubs and Haute-Saône departments.
STEP 1: From the village centre near the town hall, take the road on the right that leads to Cirey.
STEP 2: At the junction of the two roads, turn left onto the path leading down to the banks of the Ognon, signposted in yellow and blue.
STEP 3: Continue along this path alongside the Ognon and you will come to the first fountain. Given its proximity to water, the path can be wet and slippery in winter. But keep your eyes peeled for lovely views of the river.
STEP 4: The path climbs back up to leave the banks, taking a few steps. Still signposted in yellow and blue, the route continues along a farm track to a car park at the entrance to the woods.
STEP 5: Continue along a wooded path, the entrance to which is on your left when you come to a gate. It will take you to the Rosemont fountain and then back up to the village via a short climb, the only difficulty on this walk.
STEP 6: Return to the starting point via rue de la Fontaine.
