Le Hérisson - Lac Chalain

Our gîtes are well-equipped with every comfort. A 9m x 4m swimming pool, heated from 15 May to 15 September, for summer swimming. The gîtes are located on the edge of the woods, at the start of footpaths and cycle paths. The GR 559 passes through our village, and you can walk around Lake Chalain from the gîtes. On-site takeaway pizzas are available (April to September), as well as a private wellness area with hammam, jacuzzi and independent sauna, which you can hire at a preferential rate. We accept pets for a small supplement. The gîtes are located in the heart of the Jura, close to some of the most beautiful villages in France, including Château-Chalon, Baumes-les-Messieurs and the Hérisson waterfalls. Just 1 hour from the Les Rousses ski resort, 90 km from Geneva, 1 hour 15 minutes from Dijon and 2 hours from Lyon. In winter, we're just 25 minutes from La Chaux-du-Dombief, home to the world's leading cross-country skiing and snowshoeing area. Lac de Vouglans, France's 3rd largest man-made reservoir, is 20 minutes from our chalets. The River Ain is 1,500 metres from our cottages, so you can enjoy fishing, as well as on Lake Chalain and many other small rivers.
