Bellevue Farm, dating back to 1765, is located in the Haut Doubs region, a few kilometres from the Swiss border, in the commune of Longevilles Mont d'Or.
In this region, the villagers have kept their somewhat colourful names?
In Longevilles, the inhabitants are called b'sachards. The b'sache was the leather pouch attached to the belt. When we know that in Rochejean they are the Brigants... What are we to conclude from this?
Whereas we from Métabief were the 'Chats gris'.
At the Hopitaux Vieux, Loulou Poix, the emblematic mayor and initiator of our Conifer, tousitic train, administers the touille bourreaux!
Once a country of mountain dwellers, our corner of the world has recently undergone considerable development thanks to cross-border commuting, with the Swiss Eldorado attracting many workers.
But thanks to its isolated location, Bellevue has managed to retain its Franc-Comtois charm and style.
Close to the road leading up to the Mont d'Or, a major tourist attraction, it is lively and a little busy during the day in summer, but in winter, this little road is no longer used by cars... but by the Nordic ski slope.
You'll need to walk or ski 300m to reach the farm. We can transport your luggage and skis... The SuperLongevilles ski lifts are accessible on skis, but young children and beginner skiers won't be able to take them easily...
You can of course go hiking, mountain biking, skiing in winter, fishing at Lac du Morond, and don't forget to take in the splendid panorama from the cliffs of Mont d'Or, to be discovered (also) at sunrise...
Nearby, the pretty Lac de Saint Point and Lac de Remoray, and nearby Switzerland with its multitude of places to visit.
There's no shortage of tourist activities in the region!
