Hôtel La Balance
In the heart of Montbéliard's historic city centre, on the path of Heinrich Schickhardt - the German architect and town planner who built the oldest Lutheran temple in France - the Hôtel La Balance welcomes you for a night, a weekend or a longer stay. The hotel has 45 single, double and family rooms, including 2 with disabled access, all served by a lift.
The hotel has retained all the charm of yesteryear, with period staircases, antique chandeliers, wood panelling and fireplaces in some rooms to delight history buffs. In addition to its princely past, the hotel has played host to many historical figures, including the composer Tchaikovsky and General De Lattre de Tassigny, who made La Balance his HQ during the war and used it to order the Liberation of the Montbéliard region and Alsace. A commemorative plaque on the façade commemorates this historic event.
For a moment of relaxation after a busy day, you can enjoy the cosy atmosphere of the lounge-bar veranda. The rooms, with courtyard or street views, are equipped with reversible heating for your comfort all year round.
Every morning, a gourmet breakfast awaits you in a magnificent room that has been awarded the Clef Verte label, with particular attention paid to regional and eco-responsible products.
The hotel has been awarded the Clef Verte, Accueil Vélo and Qualité Tourisme labels, for a comfortable, responsible and authentic stay in the heart of Montbéliard.
