This mid-mountain plateau, at an altitude of between 850 and 1,200 m, has been awarded the "Station Verte de Vacances" label and offers a wide range of activities in an open-air setting.

Long renowned for the quality of its air, it was home to one of France's largest sanatoria and is now a regional centre for convalescence and functional re-education. The commune is recognised as a centre of excellence for the rehabilitation of top-level sportsmen and women.
