Giron, a mid-mountain village at an altitude of 1,000 metres, is part of the southern Jura Mountains in the Ain département. Perched high on the mountain, the village offers breathtaking views of the surrounding area. A paradise for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter, it has everything you need for a pleasant stay in the snow! And to diversify your activities, there's a play area, a multi-activity slope, snowtubing and airboarding.
Giron has two possible slope departures:
- from the village, also known as la Prairie, when conditions permit, skiers can take advantage of some easy and pleasant runs, for a gentle start.
Services: Accommodation, restaurants, first-aid post, equipment hire, tourist information point, toboggan run, theme trail, sale of royalties, etc.
- The second departure point, called La Frasse, is located at an altitude of 1150 metres, with pistes for all levels, from green to black. This is the finishing point of the Grande Traversée du Jura cross-country ski and snowshoe trail.
