Les Rousses, the main town in the Les Rousses resort, is located in the heart of the Haut-Jura Regional Nature Park. Renowned for the quality of its services, Les Rousses has been awarded several labels, including Flocon Vert, Tourisme et Handicap, Qualité Tourisme, etc.
Located at an altitude of 1,107 m, it is the heart of the resort, with a wide range of services and shops, and a diversity of activities on offer, all in a natural, unspoilt setting. Made famous by the Transjurassienne, the race passes right through the heart of Les Rousses every year, with the very famous Montée de l'Opticien and its steep % gradient.
From Les Rousses, there's a wide range of activities available for beginners and advanced skiers of all abilities: cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, Nordic ski touring, mushers, horse-drawn carriages on snow, downhill skiing, fun areas... and much more to discover!
Les Rousses slopes: main departure point, from the village centre, behind the Tourist Office: L'Orbe: two green runs for beginners, and a red run for the more experienced skiers. Departure point for snowshoe trails and itineraries.

Espace Liberté at the start of Les Rousses: free access to groomed runs open to all Nordic sports, so be careful not to get caught out by everyone:
Le Tour du Fort (2.5 km - difference in altitude 15m).
Start of the La Gouille à l'Ours runs: located on the edge of Lac des Rousses: ideal for beginners with fairly flat cross-country ski runs, with the option of joining Bois d'Amont via the GTJ.

La Combe Au Vert - Loge à Ponard trailhead: located in the Risoux forest, this is a more difficult trail with a steep slope on the red run.

8 Snowshoe trails (24 km) with prepared areas for pedestrians and snowshoe walkers. You'll find them starting from: la Serra, la Frasse, la Darbella, l'Orbe from les Rousses and l'Orbe from Bois d'Amont.
18 Snowshoe itineraries (78 km): ungroomed, so can be more physically challenging after snowfalls. Departures from Lamoura, la Frasse, la Darbella, Prémanon, Les Rousses, la Combe du Vert and Bois d'Amont.
Downhill skiing: JURA sur LEMAN ski area comprising the Dôle/Tuffes and Serra massifs: 39 runs and 23 ski lifts.
