Auberge du Château de Vaite

Very good restaurant in the village of Champlive, between Besançon and Baume-les-Dames.
The Auberge du Château de Vaite welcomes you in a charming setting. The restaurant has been tastefully renovated. The flowered and shaded terrace is very pleasant in fine weather. It overlooks a pretty garden by a stream and a playground for children.

The menu features regional specialities. The chef invites you to taste trout (meunière, with almonds, with morels, fried, ...), fried carp, Morteau sausage, smoked ham, Comté cheese fondue, morel crust, frogs in season, to name but a few local dishes.
The cuisine is of high quality and the dishes are subtly prepared.
The dishes are very well presented, with original tableware. Even a soup is sublimated with a delicately worked dressing. The service is friendly, the price-quality ratio is good and there is something for everyone... what more could you ask for?
