Auberge du Château de Vaite

A very good restaurant in the village of Champlive, between Besançon and Baume-les-Dames.
The Château de Vaite inn welcomes you in charming surroundings. The restaurant has been tastefully renovated. The flower-filled, shady terrace is very pleasant on sunny days. It overlooks a pretty garden beside a stream and a children's play area.

The menu features regional specialities. The chef invites you to sample trout (meunière, with almonds, with morel mushrooms), sweetbreads, smoked ham, Comté cheese fondue in winter, morel mushroom crust and frogs in season, to name just a few local dishes.
The cuisine is of the highest quality and the dishes are subtly prepared.
The dishes are very well presented, with original crockery. Even a soup is sublimely and delicately presented. The service is friendly, the value for money is good and there is something for everyone... what more could you ask for?
