For nearly twenty years, Laurent and Véronique Courtois have been at the helm of the essential family business "Au Comtois Courtois". Specialising in the traditional production of jams of all kinds, they offer visitors the chance to discover a wide range of flavours, some of them completely unexpected.
Most of the jams are made with fruit from the Franche-Comté region, purchased directly from producers whenever possible (strawberries, mirabelle plums, cherries, etc.). At the same time, Laurent and Véronique also pick their own fruit to make certain flavours, such as those based on dandelions, elderberries or wild raspberries. Véronique then carefully prepares her culinary treasures in small batches, which contain no colourings or preservatives and are based on recipes and secrets inherited from village grandmothers. They are also cooked according to the rules of the art, in red copper pots at low temperatures, to preserve the flavours and quality of the ingredients. Armed with this guarantee of quality, Laurent and Véronique have expanded their production to include jellies made from fruit juices pressed by them, or made from Jura wines such as Macvin and Vin Jaune.
When you visit "Au Comtois Courtois", you'll of course find great classics like apricot, strawberry or pear jam... but also original combinations that will arouse your curiosity... So... Are you more into raspberries and absinthe, apples with Marc du Jura, blackcurrants and chocolate, blueberries with hazelnuts or gentian jelly? Available individually or in a box, the hardest part will be choosing between these preparations, each more exquisite than the last!
