Caveau Maison Mollex

-

Created in 2013, this estate is the fruit of the work of the descendants of the Mollex family, who strive to perpetuate the patriarchal values passed down over several centuries, in a welcoming and spacious place, presenting the exceptional terroir of the Seyssel wines, as well as a range of Savoy Wines.

On the Seyssel wines side, you'll discover the two grape varieties Altesse and Molette through 6 vintages of white wine, made according to the Seyssel traditional method. Gourmets will no doubt have the chance to taste ‘Le Clos de la Péclette’ or ‘La Tacconnière’ at some of the region's finest restaurants. At the winery, you can taste them as you learn about how they were produced.

As for Savoy wines, you'll be seduced by the quality of the range, which includes Apremont, red and rosé Gamay, Chautagne, Mondeuse, Pinot Noir and sparkling wine.

Finally, treat your taste buds to the establishment’s exclusive products, such as the sparkling ‘Rosta’ and the rustic ‘Vieux Cailloux’.

History and values
It was not until 1931 that Maison Mollex was officially recognised as a business. It was Ernest and Marguerite Mollex who entered the wine market by being the first to offer bottled wine in addition to bulk wine.
Ernest Mollex was a man of character with a hard-edged approach, combining determination, rigour and a taste for a job well done. His hard work led to the creation of the union in 1927 and the creation of the Seyssel AOC in 1942.
It was from this period onwards that the Maison Mollex developed, over the years and through the generations. First, with Georges and René Mollex at the helm in the 1960s, then Jean-Pierre and Jean-Luc in the 1980s. After the deaths of René and Jean-Pierre in 2006 and Georges in 2011, it was Jean-Luc and his children who continued the family story. Today, after Jean Luc's sudden passing in 2018, Sébastien, Séverine and Cyrielle are more determined than ever to write a new chapter.
