We are installed since 2003. The land was fallow for 15 years and there was no building. Today the farm extends over 35 hectares with natural meadows, hay meadows and market gardening land. The membership to Nature et Progrès in 2007 marks our commitment in an ethical and responsible production.
The farm is composed of two workshops: market gardening and breeding. The creation of an AMAP (Association de Maintien de l'Agriculture Paysanne) in 2004 (the first one in the Ain) has allowed us to develop and enhance the value of our production through direct sales. The vegetables grow on mounds. This technique has the effect of raising the level of the cultivated soil in order to fight against the water saturation of the hydromorphic soils of the farm.
The use of a vegetable mulch (BRF straw - Ramial Fragmented Wood) allows to nourish and cover the soil. The crops are all grown in the open field, guaranteeing seasonal production! The work of the land is done by animal traction.
Three draft horses accomplish the ploughing with brio! On the breeding side, 8 cows, 12 ewes, 15 pigs, 2 sows and 1 boar are in open air from April to December. The cows are very local since they are "Villars de Lans" breeds. The animals graze in the meadows from spring.
The production of cereals allows us to ensure the complementary feeding of the animals and to participate in the autonomy of the farm.
