Le Safran Bleu
Established over 16 years ago in Chissey-sur-Loue in the Val d'Amour, Le Safran Bleu grows around 60 ares of crocus sativus to produce precious organic filaments, extracted by hand - around 200 flowers are needed to obtain 1g of dried saffron.
In addition, the farm processes its harvest locally into saffron jams and jellies, using fruit grown locally, such as apples.
Every autumn, Safran Bleu opens its doors by appointment for guided tours, picking and tastings during the flowering period - an immersive 90-minute experience for small groups (minimum 8 participants) with a drying demonstration and gourmet tasting.
