Here's an idea for a relaxed, offbeat holiday. Your gypsy caravan pulled by a real Comtois horse awaits you for a bohemian holiday in the Haute-Joux and Mont Noir region. You'll wander through pastures, woods, ponds and rivers to fill up on fresh air, a change of scenery and new discoveries. Rest and nature guaranteed!

Day 1:
You will be expected at the hostel from 9am for a presentation of your stay and to settle into the caravan.
You will receive a full explanation of how the tour works (road book) and safety instructions.
After the briefing, you'll set off on the initiation tour.

Day 2:
Tours in the Haut-Jura. On some stages, you can take your meals in small village inns or at farmers' homes.
You can also cook in your caravan. Stages of 10 to 15 km on average.
Every evening you'll find a quiet place to settle down, a water supply and a meadow for your horse.

Day 3:
Return to the hostel by 6pm at the latest.

What are the conditions for hiring a carriage?
Whether you're over 18, a beginner or an experienced driver, it doesn't matter! The important thing is that you want to do this activity, to get involved in an adventure lasting several days with a companion: the Comtois horse. You don't have to be afraid of them! When you arrive, we'll give you all the advice you need to make you independent, but we're never far away if you need us.

Your caravan :
Designed for 4 / 5 people, very functional.
You have :
A sofa bed for 2 people
A fold-down table
2 single beds (with the option of adding an extra bed)
A 2-burner gas hob
A cupboard with crockery and cutlery
An icebox (with ice-cream bars changed at each stage)
A cupboard
A jerry can for your water supplies
Trunk and seat.

Please bring your own bedding: sleeping bags or sheets and blankets, pillows and pillowcases. Also bring lighting for your caravan and good shoes to be close to the horse.

Our itineraries: these are drawn up by us. You will cover between 8 and 15 km each day, depending on the gradient. You will ride on the second plateau of the Jura.
To guide you, we provide you with : A 25,000th scale map with the route of each stage. A detailed route book. Ideas for visits and walks at each stage. A wealth of useful information!

Our stages: at each stage, you'll find a quiet place to settle down, water supplies and a meadow for your horse. You can even bring your own barbecue!

Your horse: a Comtois. This powerful, docile and courageous draught horse will accompany you throughout your stay.

2 days/1 night from €395 per caravan for up to 4 people (from 20/4 to 4/7 and from 8/9 to 30/9/2025)

Included

Hire of the fully-equipped caravan (crockery, cool box, gas, jerry can for water), map and route book, introduction to and supervision of the holiday by a qualified equestrian tourism guide, the horse and its equipment, the location of the caravan at the stages, the horse's pasture and its supply of pellets.

Not included

Transport to your holiday destination, your food (plan to have a basic provisioning before departure), bed linen and towels (please bring duvets or duvet covers, sheets and pillows), drinks and personal expenses, any tourist tax, showers at stopovers (2 euros), pitch for a tent (5 euros per day), deposit of 350 euros to be handed over on the day of your arrival and administration costs (7.50 euros).

OPTIONAL :
Overnight stay and half-board at the hostel (from €45/person), cancellation insurance (3.9% of the package), transfers from the station to Longcochon. Mountain bikes and horses can be hired on site.
