Belvédère de La Cernaise

The view over Saint-Claude, the Flumen cluse and its waterfalls, with Septmoncel and the hamlet of Montépile to the right at the bottom of the valley, as well as the Septmoncel sandstone (folded rocks) nearby.

12 km from Saint-Claude by car, on the RD436 ("lacets de Septmoncel"). The viewpoint is located on the roadside.

Access: leave Saint-Claude in the direction of Geneva (D436). Go through the hamlets of Essard and Montbrillant. Continue for 5 km through the Septmoncel laces. At the crossroads at "L'évalide", turn right towards "Les Molunes", "Les Moussières". 3 km further on, the viewpoint is located at the edge of the road.

Follow the road to the place called "la Cernaise", about 500 metres further on, to park and return on foot to the lookout along the
