Let the scent of the boxwoods guide you around Saint-Romain de Roche and discover its Romanesque chapel, its belvederes, its marble quarry and its Chemin du Facteur. Probably dating from the 13th century, the chapel of Saint-Romain stands on a rocky promontory overhanging the valley of the Bienne by more than 350 m. A majestic site, with a unique panorama, that will delight lovers of heritage and landscapes!
Access: Go to Pratz (15-20 minutes from Saint-Claude, in the direction of Lons-le-Saunier / Moirans-en-Montagne / Lavans-lès-Saint Claude) then take the D300 following the "Site et Chapelle Saint-Romain" sign. Drive to the large car park at the entrance to the hamlet of Saint-Romain-de-Roche and park. Continue on foot to the Saint-Romain chapel. The Saint-Romain chapel has been listed as a Historic Monument since 1931.
