One of the most beautiful views in the Haut-Jura! An orientation table and a breathtaking 360° view of the Jura chain and the Alps await you at the summit of the Crêt de Chalam, which rises to an altitude of 1,545 m. It's a not-to-be-missed hike that everyone can enjoy. The Borne au Lion site is also steeped in history. In July 1944, the area became a refuge for more than 2,000 resistance fighters. In 1613, this site was the scene of numerous disputes
disputes over the installation of boundary markers between France (Haut-Bugey) and Spain (Franche-Comté).
ACCESS: From La Pesse, take the road opposite the village church, signposted "Borne au lion". Follow this road for 4 km until you reach a large car park. Walk 200 m to reach the Borne au Lion site. To get to Crêt de Chalam, take the white path on the right, then the track on the left.
