The view from a belvedere is always impressive. On this tour you will see the most beautiful landscapes of the region and observe the shades of the lakes.

Morning: Your journey will start at the Croix Rochette lookout in Saint-Maur with its orientation table, a superb view of the Jura Mountains. A breath of fresh air to wake you up. We then head towards Châtillon and the belvedere of the Virgin. We see the village forming a semi-circle around the rock, and a view of the entire Ain valley. Then comes the belvedere of Fontenu, which overlooks the Lake of Chalain and offers a magnificent view of the lake's surroundings surrounded by forests. The changing colours of the lake will amaze you. To end this morning, head for the belvedere of l'Eventail towards Menétrux-en-Joux, where you can see the 65 m high waterfall. The access through the boxwood forest is quite unusual. And finally, the belvedere of the 4 lakes: towards Chaux-du-Dombief with a breathtaking view of the lakes of Narlay, Ilay, Petit and Grand Maclu. Lunch break in a restaurant around Bonlieu.
Afternoon: To digest, head for the belvedere of La Ronde in Bonlieu. The lake of Bonlieu is one of the most beautiful by its wild side. A certain serenity can be felt around this lake, perhaps due to the monks who lived here between the 12th and 18th centuries. Then head for the belvedere under the slopes at Pont-de-Poitte, which offers an unobstructed view of Lake Vouglans, France's third largest artificial reservoir. It is protected by the coastal law and also protected by a ZNIEFF (Zone of Ecological, Faunistic and Floristic Interest), like most of the other lakes (Chalain, Bonlieu, Ilay, Narlay, Maclu, Vernois, Onoz, Viremont). To end the day, we headed for the Pont de la Pyle at La Tour-du-Meix. 351 m long and 9 m wide with its three 74 m long piers, you can see upstream the trench in the rock which formed the Pyle cluse, an ancient Roman road. Possibility of taking a cruise on the Vouglans lake, aboard the Louisiane.
