Situated at an altitude of 1100 m, the Maison Michaud, a typical Haut-Doubs tuyé farmhouse, has stood the test of time since 1683. Immerse yourself in the life of Jura farmers from the 17th century to the early 20th century.
During your visit, you'll explore the 800 m2 of exhibition space and the 2,000 objects on display. You'll discover how ingeniously the farmers adapted to the harsh, long winters, and the solutions they found to this self-sufficient lifestyle: sustainable architecture in harmony with the environment, know-how, lifestyles, etc. Visiting the Maison Michaud is also a way of understanding the history of the Franco-Swiss border (how it was built, smuggling, etc.) and the networks of smugglers that were set up during the Second World War.
