The Via Francigena or "French Way" is the name given to the ancient Roman road used by pilgrims to travel from Canterbury to Rome. When you arrive in Besançon, you will find a roof for pilgrims to rest in at the Franciscans of the Chapelle des Buis on the heights of the Besançon citadel (89 chemin de la Chapelle des Buis).
