Ferme du Tremblay
The term "Tremblay" is said to have originated from the presence of aspen trees, which do not exist on the site today.
Many elements of the roof structure date from 1353. Its Saracen chimney, surmounted by a wrought iron cross on the outside, has double longitudinal beams on the inside (1550) and is unusually long: 10.6 m! The carrons probably come from the old fortifications and the medieval castle of Saint-Trivier-de-Courtes, which were pillaged between 1790 and 1794. All the buildings (house, farm, pigsty) and the pond have been listed in the Inventaire supplémentaire des Monuments Historiques since 2003.
The farm was restored with the help of Patrimone des Pays de l'Ain; the work was completed in 2005 and the farm was sold with the aim of making it a place of conviviality open to the public. The owners decided to embark on this adventure while making the farm their home. Today, it is a place for receptions (seminars, weddings, family reunions, etc.) and tourist accommodation (guest rooms).
