Giron 1000 station et village
Nestling in the pastures at an altitude of 1,000 metres, Giron is a welcoming village with breathtaking views, sumptuous sunsets and fabulous night skies. On the ground, the majestic Jura forests keep the snow cool, making the Nordic site one of the best snow-covered in the massif. From December to April, you can enjoy cross-country skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, tobogganing, airboarding, snow-tubing and walking. The rest of the year, hikers, walkers, cyclists, mountain bikers and horse riders will find a wide choice of itineraries in the commune and beyond.
The two sections of the village tell their own stories through their streets, the architecture of their farms, their many wash-houses and fountains, their well-preserved church furniture and their rich historical and natural heritage. Forests and pastures are home to preserved flora and fauna, and the Roche Fauconnière and Abrans caves are listed natural sites.
The local people offer accommodation in hotel residences, bed and breakfasts, self-catering cottages and furnished flats, as well as restaurants serving home-cooked meals based on local produce. Spring, summer, autumn, winter - each season offers visitors a wide variety of landscapes, wonderful encounters, events and activities.
