In the centre of the village of Simandre, a little downstream from the church, there is a remarkable ford made of huge stones which probably dates back to the Middle Ages. This ford is located in the immediate vicinity of the "Pont de Simandre" which links Simandre to Petit-Simandre.
There are also two other fords on the Suran, one at Banchin and the other at Tournesac.
