Halte fluviale Cité des Arts
The Cité des Arts boat stop is one of 3 in the Greater Besançon area, located along the Doubs Valley.
Situated in the heart of a green setting in Besançon city centre, this stopover offers boaters all the services they need for a pleasant stay. The pontoons can accommodate large craft (up to 38 metres) as well as hotel barges, passenger boats and restaurant boats.
You will find on site :
- Electricity and water points;
- a footbridge adapted for people with reduced mobility (PRM);
- a refuelling station (petrol); diesel distribution is available by appointment, at least 24 hours in advance
- a waste water pump (grey water, black water, hydrocarbons).
Besançon, and in particular the Citadelle, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to a wealth of architectural, historical and natural treasures.
From the harbour master's office at Moulin-Saint-Paul, the electric boat tour of the Besançon loop takes around 2 hours, including the passage through two locks.
With a view to making tourism more sustainable, the Grand Besançon Métropole halts have been awarded the Pavillon Bleu label since 2018 (protection of the environment and the marine environment), the "Accueil vélo" label since 2020 (signposted cycle routes nearby, cycle documentation, cycle parking, drinking water point, repair kit), and the Tourisme & Handicap label since 2019.
