Jour de pluie au Pays de Montbéliard

-

As the weather is a known hazard, we have plenty of ideas on how not to let an unfortunate downpour get us down. Here are several ways to make those rainy days happy and rewarding!

The day will start with a visit to the Centre Régional d'Art Contemporain on the 19th, or the Château des Ducs de Wurtemberg, which presents temporary exhibitions of contemporary art, allowing visitors to discover artists from all horizons and countries in its atypical space. One of its main objectives is to raise public awareness of contemporary art, especially among young people.
In addition to the Château des Ducs de Wurtemberg, it is now a museum where art, archaeology, history and natural sciences are combined.

Lunch break and for the afternoon, discovery of the Museum of the peasantry and old trades of Valentigney, an authentic farm of the Montbéliard region from 1766.
In the outbuildings of the building, discover agricultural machinery, old tools and a presentation of old trades (shoemaker, carpenter, cooper, tinker, clog maker, wood turner...). On the first floor, you can delve into the history of two illustrious figures from the Montbéliard region, Etienne Oehmichen and Louis Vuillequez.
