Rainy day in the Montbéliard region
We all know what the weather can do, so we've got plenty of ideas on how to avoid being put off by an unfortunate downpour. Here are a few ways to make those rainy days happy and rewarding!
The day will start with a visit to the Centre Régional d'Art Contemporain on the 19th, or the Château Montbéliard Wurtemberg, which presents temporary exhibitions of contemporary art, enabling visitors to discover artists from all over the world in its unusual space. One of its main aims is to raise public awareness of contemporary art, particularly among young people.
and the Château des Ducs de Wurtemberg, which today houses a museum combining the arts, archaeology, history and natural sciences.
In the afternoon, take a break for lunch and discover the Musée de la paysannerie et des vieux métiers de Valentigney, an authentic Montbéliard farm dating from 1766.
In the building's outbuildings you can see farm machinery, old tools and a display of old trades (shoemaker, carpenter, cooper, tinker, clog maker, wood turner, etc.). Upstairs, immerse yourself in the history of two illustrious figures from the Montbéliard region, Etienne Oehmichen and Louis Vuillequez.
