La Ferme de la Forêt
With its Saracen chimney, the Ferme de la Forêt is a fine example of traditional Bresse architecture, illustrated by its timber-frame and cob construction. Dated 1581 and classified as a Historic Monument in 1930, it features an admirable lattice gallery serving as a balcony on the upper floor.
Another special feature: the well is equipped with a double crank handle, a reminder that the farm was once divided between two sisters whose relationship was far from cordial!
After major restoration work carried out by Grand Bourg Agglomération, (re)discover a unique heritage thanks to a revamped tour route: from food to building techniques, not forgetting farming activities, the daily life of Bresse residents in the 19th century resonates with our concerns today.
