A medieval gun tower that was part of the fortification programme established by Vauban in the 17th century, the Pelote tower was destroyed by fire in 2013. The exceptional Vauban period framework was lost in the fire. In 2016, a major restoration project enabled the building to regain its architectural authenticity, using traditional techniques and know-how.
