The secrets of the Haut-Jura
A land of nature, hospitality and expertise, the Haut Jura is rich in traditional products. On this escapade, we invite you to discover how Comté cheese is made and matured, and how wood is worked.
Morning: Rendezvous at the imposing Fort des Rousses.
Demilitarised in 1997, it now houses one of the most spectacular Comté cheese maturing cellars, Juraflore. During your guided tour, you'll discover the region's 3 other PDO cheeses: Morbier, Bleu de Gex and Mont d'Or, as well as the Fort's museography (interactive model, audiovisual projection, etc.).
The tour ends with a Comté cheese tasting session, with the possibility of making a purchase.
Lunch in the restaurant.
Sample menu
Buffet of starters and raw vegetables
Turkey escalope with Comté sauce and pan-fried country-style or Morbiflette cheese

In the afternoon, we head to Bois d'Amont for a guided tour of the Musée de la Boissellerie in a former sawmill on the banks of the River Orbe: hydraulic turbine, steam engine, evolution of tools, machines and techniques for making medicine boxes, cheese boxes, clock cabinets and skis from spruce.
The tour continues with a brand new exhibition area.
