Librairie boutique - saline royale

-

The Royal Saltworks opened a bookshop/store in May 1984 under the direction of Richard Edwards. Designed in the former courtyard of the Guards by two architects, J. Aubert and F. Montès in a modern style, the bookshop creates a surprising contrast with the establishment.

With architecture, urban planning and prospective studies as its main sections, it was the first provincial bookshop specialising in architecture and the second in France. The bookshop/shop was born directly out of the Saline's cultural and scientific project. It remains anchored in its original themes corresponding to the experience of the visit and the image that the monument reflects, and then offers a wide range of articles and books on philosophy, science, gardens and the arts.

To be found in bookshops

> The history of the Saltworks, its architect Claude-Nicolas Ledoux, the history of architecture and architects from antiquity to the present day, heritage, interior design
> Salt, its history through the ages and continents.
> Pure utopia, social utopia, prospective.
> The Garden Festival.
> Franche-Comté, because the Saltworks is part of a landscape, a region. To help you discover the eventful history and attractive geography of this monument, the Librairie de la Saline offers guides and books on its history, its famous men, its traditions, its gastronomy and its writers.
> Books for children on the same themes.
