Upstairs, what was once Ambérieu’s public reception hall, is now the Armand Decour memorial hall. A self-taught historian, Armand Decour (1908- 1984) is the author of several historical works on the canton of Ambérieu. On his death, Decour left his work library as well a large collection of engravings and autographs to the Media Library. Regular exhibitions are held to showcase this treasure of our regional heritage.
The size of the room, as well as its small stage where musicians play, allows the Media Library to hold readings as well as small shows and plays.
The extraordinary architectural beauty of the hall creates an atmosphere like that of a gallery in fine arts museum. Contemporary art exhibitions there are seen by school groups led by their teachers in collaboration with the artists.
