Information chilowé® :
Special New Year micro-adventure
Day 1
Meet at 5.15pm at Bellegarde-sur-Valserine station, where Captain Rémi will be waiting to take us by minivan to the starting point of our adventure. After a group briefing, we set off on a short walk, on foot or snowshoes depending on the snow conditions, to reach our base camp. It's the perfect opportunity to take a deep breath of fresh air and work up an appetite!
Once our bivouac is set up, we gather in the main yurt to spend our first evening together. Everyone brings a regional speciality for a convivial aperitif and dinner. We finish our first night in the tents around the yurt.
Activity: 30 min walk
Day 2
After a night that reminds us of the great winter expeditions, we enjoy the warmth of the fire in the yurt for a hearty breakfast. Then it's off on a magnificent day's snowshoe trek, right from the yurt. Through the snowy woods, we discover the local flora and fauna while trying to spot footprints in the snow. Picnic break en route.
At the end of the day, we return to base camp to prepare for the New Year's Eve party! We'll have some fun with treasure hunts to find the aperitif, and we'll look for and split wood to light a big fire around which we'll toast with a glass of mulled wine. The party begins! We share an aperitif around the fire, followed by a joyous Jura feast prepared with local produce in Rémi's yurt. Happy New Year!
After this delicious meal, we set off again on snowshoes for a midnight walk to get 2025 off to a good start, before snuggling up in the warmth of our duvets.
Activity: 8km, 4h walk, 400m elevation gain
Day 3
We wake up gently, at our own pace depending on the previous day's festivities, in the heart of the snow-covered mountains. A delicious brunch based on local produce awaits us to get the day off to a good start!
Invigorated, we set off for one last short hike, continuing to explore the surrounding area. Then we start our descent as the day begins to wane. The weekend comes to an end, and we're back at Bellegarde station by 5pm.
