Parkings et accès aux Cascades du Hérisson

2 main car parks give you access to the Hérisson waterfalls.


In Chaux-du-Dombief, at the top of the Hérisson waterfalls:


Free parking in the hamlet of Ilay: Parking Saut Girard-Lac d'Ilay.

Follow the GPS direction "Ilay, La Chaux-du-Dombief".


Ideal for direct access to the Saut Girard waterfall and to complete the one-hour family loop: Saut Girard, Moulin Jeunet, return to Ilay via the Fromagerie.

To make your walk more pleasant, you will find on the spot: the hotel restaurant l'Auberge du Hérisson and its Jura specialities, toilets next to the Saut Girard, the Boissellerie du Hérisson to bring back many souvenirs and wooden objects from the Jura, the Espace Botanique du Frasnois to learn how to recognise the aromatic and medicinal plants of the Jura Massif.

If you want to complete the day with wonderful views, go to the Aigle peak, the 4 lakes lookout or the cairns trail!


2. In Ménétrux-en-Joux, at the bottom of the Hérisson waterfalls:

Follow the GPS direction "Maison des cascades, Ménétrux en Joux".


Ideal to discover the Eventail waterfall in 5 minutes walking

Parking and access to the waterfalls recommended for pushchairs, children or anyone who cannot walk easily.

Complete the discovery of the waterfalls with a free or guided visit to the Maison des Cascades: a 20-minute film presents the history of human occupation of the Hedgehog Waterfalls, the legends surrounding the site as well as images of the Waterfalls in the 4 seasons; a scenography area allows you to learn more about the geological history and the landscape formation of the Waterfalls A fun way to discover the Jura massif and its specificities.

Parking is subject to a charge in order to help finance investments: reception of the public, development work and daily maintenance of the Cascades du Hérisson site.


1 car park attached to Bonlieu, in the middle of the Hérisson waterfalls, leads to the Hérisson waterfalls, at the Saut de la Forge.

This is the Google "Cascades du Hérisson" direction.

Be careful! This is a restricted parking area, not equipped, on which it is difficult to manoeuvre and which gives access to an intermediate level of the waterfalls: you will have to go down and then up along the Hérisson to discover the whole site.


Please note for your discovery of the site:

swimming is forbidden in the Hérisson waterfalls
dogs are allowed, but must be kept on a lead
please wear proper footwear, some passages may be slippery
the Maison des Cascades has a few baby carriers available
