Patrimoine du village d'Arboys-en-Bugey : Saint-Bois
Remarkable civil building

Patrimoine du village d'Arboys-en-Bugey : Saint-Bois

-

The houses of the village are grouped around the church. Inaugurated in 1869, the church is in the neo-Gothic style. The bell tower was completed in 1898. It consists of a nave with three bays and two side chapels.

There are several crosses in the commune of Saint-Bois:
- the cross of Veyrin, made of stone. The exact date is unknown.
- the cross of Saint-Bois, also in stone. It bears the inscription "1852, souvenir de Jubile".
- the Crozet cross, bearing the same inscription as the previous cross.
- the Compignière cross, with the inscription "vers la joie, par la croix".

The war memorial of Saint-Bois is in the central square. Built in 1920, its face is decorated with palms surrounding a soldier's face.

The commune also has 4 ovens. One is located near the church, a second at the bottom of the village of Veyrin, a third in Seignier in the hamlet of Crozet. The most remarkable is that of Crozet.

The former castle of Saint-Bois, le Châtillonnet, is now in ruins. The castle of Perrouzet, in Crozet, is also overgrown. A tower and an original door can still be seen. The only vestige still in good condition is the castle's dovecote, which is clearly visible and preserved.
