Poligny and Comté: at the heart of Jura traditions
Discover the treasures of the Jura on an unforgettable day out in Poligny, the capital of Comté cheese! Combining history, heritage and gastronomy, let yourself be seduced by the charm of this emblematic town and delve into the secrets of making the famous Comté cheese by visiting an authentic cheese dairy. A gourmet and convivial experience at the heart of Jura traditions, to be savoured without moderation!
The day begins with a visit to a cheese dairy, typical of the region, where our famous Comté cheese is made. You'll get to see the different stages in Comté cheese-making, such as curdling, moulding and salting. At the end of the tour, you'll be offered a tasting session.
We'll then set off on a guided tour of the town centre of Poligny, the capital of Comté cheese. An ancient fortified town, Poligny boasts a rich historical heritage, as well as a strong Comté culture.
For lunch, head to Melting'Potes, a restaurant with a warm, modern atmosphere and gourmet cuisine.
The menu is entirely Jura-style, with starters, main courses and desserts made with fresh local produce.
A dedicated area for groups on the ground floor with bus parking opposite the restaurant.
