Located in the east of the department of Ain, this river flows from the Grand Colombier Massif to the Groin river and then to the Séran, a direct tributary of the Rhône.
The Arvière spring is located at the foot of the Hergues summit (alt. 1426m) in the commune of Arvière-en-Valromey, near the Col de la Biche at an altitude of nearly 1220 m.
Labelled a "wild river site" in 2019, Arvière is a preserved river that has conserved its biodiversity and offers many emblematic landscapes of the department.
