Discovering an exceptional medieval site
The adventure begins at the Loue à la bouche restaurant car park in the village of Scey-Maisières. You'll then take a 40-minute walk along a footpath to the top of Castel Saint-Denis, 500 metres above sea level.
On arrival, your guide will welcome you and take you through the history of one of the region's greatest fortified castles, the birthplace of the Pierre de Scey family. Through stories and anecdotes, you will discover the remains of the chapel, the dwellings, the farmyard, the wine cellar and the Tour Saint-Denis.
You'll also find out more about the consolidation and integration work being carried out to preserve this historic site.
A breathtaking panorama
Before returning to your restaurant, we invite you to stroll around this historic site for a few moments to admire the view over the valley and surrounding villages, and to observe the Ravin de Valbois nature reserve.
A menu of local flavours
Loue à la Bouche invites you to savour a seasonal lunch concocted according to arrivals from local producers and market gardeners. Authentic, 100% home-made expertise with mouth-watering flavours!
