This beautiful town house was rebuilt between 1744 and 1750 for Canon Charles-François-Denis d'Agay on the site of a former canon's house belonging to the Boitouset family.
The property remained in the hands of the d'Agay family until the 19th century.
In 1910, the hotel was sold to Monseigneur Sallot de Brobèque as the archbishop's new residence. After your visit to the Archbishop's Palace, take a look at the apse of the Holy Shroud in Saint-Jean Cathedral.
APSE OF THE HOLY SHROUD
After the collapse of the cathedral bell tower in 1729, the bell tower and eastern apse were rebuilt and dedicated entirely to the Holy Shroud. The decoration of this baroque apse, the work of the great Parisian architect Germain Boffrand (1667-1754), includes a prestigious collection of 18th-century paintings.
