In the heart of the Jura Mountains, on the border between the Jura and the Doubs, lies the small village of Mouthe.
To come to the Val de Mouthe is to discover Scandinavian landscapes, with a succession of small villages bordered by high altitude forests, snow-covered mountain pastures and frozen lakes. At the bend in the road, you may catch a glimpse of the sled dog teams in training.
And if the name rings a bell, that's normal: this is where the legendary Transjurassienne cross-country ski race (skating and classic) traditionally takes place, linking Lamoura in the Jura to Mouthe.
Just a few kilometres from Mouthe is the Combes Derniers ski area. Comprising 4 communes (Le Crouzet, Reculfoz, Les Pontets and Rondefontaine), it boasts 4 Nordic ski trails and a number of snowshoe trails.
All the tracks on this site are smooth - ideal for training.
