Saut du Doubs
The Saut du Doubs, a must-see, is one of the Jura Mountains' iconic natural sites. It is well-known for its Canada-like setting of beautiful canyons and a majestic waterfall of 27 metres in height.
This natural site can be reached on foot, by boat or even in a horse-drawn carriage, a different pleasure for every season.

Home to the famous Montbéliarde cow and Comtois horse breeds, this farming region produces some famous star products, such as Comté cheese, Mont d’Or cheese, and Morteau sausages.
The food-processing sector has also grown here, as has local expertise in timekeeping mechanisms and art mechanics, added to the UNESCO intangible cultural heritage list in 2020.

On foot, by bike, on horseback or on skis, the Doubs-Horloger RNP can be discovered in a variety of ways, the promise of a real change of scene.
To enjoy your exploration to the full, take to the many waymarked trails, such as the GR5 long-distance itinerary. Groomed cross-country ski trails include the Grande Traversée du Jura, and you'll find multiple facilities for a wide range of sports and leisure activities.
For example, you can:
- Take a boat trip or horse-and-carriage ride to the Saut du Doubs waterfall
- Walk along the smugglers' trails and climb the famous "Echelles de la mort"(death ladders)
- Go fly fishing or canoeing on the Doubs or Dessoubre rivers
- Make the most of the groomed cross-country ski trails
- Try the treetop adventure trail for lots of fun and a bird's-eye view of the forest
