L'échappée Jurassienne

L'échappée Jurassienne

-

The Franco-Swiss Jura Great Sites Route starts from the town of Dole in the French Jura. It crosses the Pays de Dole and its immense Chaux forest before reaching the Jura vineyards via the two UNESCO saltworks of Arc-et-Senans and Salins-les-Bains. In the vineyards, you'll discover remote areas, small wine-growing villages and great wine and Comté tastings. L'Échappée Jurassienne then takes in two of France's Most Beautiful Villages: Château-Chalon and Baume-les-Messieurs, before reaching Lons-le-Saunier, the prefecture of the Jura.

After crossing the first plateau, the first lake appears: the Lac de Chalain, followed by a series of major sites, including the Hérisson waterfalls, the Plateau des 4 Lacs, the Pic de l'Aigle, the Langouette and Saine gorges... Arrival in the Haut-Jura Regional Nature Park marks the transition between the Pays des Lacs and the Haut-Jura, with its inhabited mountains and unspoilt wilderness.

Finally, this great tour takes us from Foncine-le-Haut and the Lac de Bellefontaine to the Station des Rousses on the same route as the GTJ pedestrian tour. It's here that the Échappée Jurassienne offers you two finishes with very different landscapes and atmospheres!
